The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie two Local community Hall in Mpuluzi to render expert services into the community.
SASSA will likely be rendering expert services for instance new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer treatment enquiries, together with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In an announcement, the agency stated it is alarmed concerning the high amount of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The intention in the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out into a superior number of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This is due to lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no entirely functional office devoted to service the area on a daily sassa status basis. The assistance stage designed for intervention ordeals a high inflow of opportunity beneficiaries, which makes it hard for that Workplace to attend to all people who go to a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise additional assets to allow the servicing of all consumers and maximize access to Social Assistance providers,” the agency said.
